Making Sense our of Nonsense: Models of Head Injury Rehabilitation
Author: Ruth A. Whitham
At the age of 37, I was forced into my mid-life crisis. In the blink of an eye, and elderly driver's mistake cast me into the twilight world of the head injury survivor. From that day forward my future depended on forgiving the past, accepting my fate and walking blindly in any direction that offered a glimmer of hope for the re-establishment of wellness. My book was to become my lifeline, my best friend, my lover, a reason for having survived not in vain. Recapturing control of my life meant exposing my pain and vulnerability to a world with deaf ears not trained to listen.
